Helen qualified in June 1993 from Glasgow University and then undertook a year's vocational training in a city centre dental practice in Dundee. She then joined a family dental practice in Fife where she worked as a dental associate for over five years. Helen moved to Bonnyrigg in December 1999, taking over the dental practice from the retiring dentist.
Helen has led the practice through many changes since then with the practice premises being modernised, upgraded and expanded with the creation of a second surgery and a local decontamination room.
Helen has always been very active with continuing professional development and in the past has been on the Lothian General Dental Practitioners Subcommittee, as well as a vocational trainer for newly qualified dentists. She is a member of the British Dental Association.
Outside dentistry, Helen enjoys going to the cinema and socialising with friends and family. She has been a keen horse rider since childhood and enjoys competing in dressage and eventing as well as taking part in local riding club events.

Dawna holds three different dental qualifications. Dawna started off her career as a dental nurse before leaving Edinburgh in 1983 to join the Women's Royal Navy Dental Service where she served for over six years alongside Royal Navy and RAF personnel and gaining her dental hygienist qualification during that time. Dawna then joined a general dental practice in Cornwall as the senior dental hygienist for ten years and was instrumental in gaining various practice awards.
Dawna returned to Edinburgh and joined our practice in April 2001. As well as raising her two sons, she has continued to develop her professional career and in 2009 qualified from Edinburgh University as a dental therapist.
